The global tennis season starts here when the 2015 Mubadala World Tennis Championship returns to Abu Dhabi from 1st- 3rd January. With the world's best competing for the Championship title and USD $250,000 prize money, 2015 promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

The 2013 tournament saw the best player line up in the tournament’s history with 6 of the world top 10: Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Stanislas Wawrinka wowed a sold out center court at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex with Novak Djokovic claiming his third consecutive title.

Alongside the centre court action, the Mubadala World Tennis Championship features a multitude of other attractions including a Tennis Village full of family-friendly activities as well as daily autograph sessions with the star players!

Andy Murray crowned winner of 2015 Mubadala World Tennis Championship!

Andy Murray got 2015 off to the best possible start as he took home the trophy at the season opening Mubadala World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi after Novak Djokovic was forced to withdraw from the final due to illness.

The weekend of top flight sporting entertainment and fun-filled activity in the tennis village came to a close following the 3rd/4th place play off between Rafael Nadal and Stanislas Wawrinka with the Spaniard Nadal winning the match 7-6, 6-3.

After the official close of the competition, with the play-off match and the trophy presentation to Andy Murray, Feliciano Lopez and Nicolas Almagro played anenjoyable exhibition match on centre court which was umpired by tournament ambassador Pat Cash.

Speaking after he was crowned champion of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship for the second time, having won the inaugural trophy in 2009, Andy Murray said:

“It’s always nice to win and it gives that little bit of extra confidence. I was really happy with the way I was playing in the matches that I did play so it’s a great start to the year. It would have been perfect to play today, especially against Novak, but of course it’s not been possible due to his illness so I’ll celebrate the victory.”

After being forced to withdraw from the final due to illness Novak Djokovic shared his disappointment with fans.
